Teach people Retool / Airtable / Zapier / Figma / Clay on one end of a marketplace and create easy ways for companies to hire these people as freelancers and onboard them into existing systems for projects (could even be done through API) on the other end↗

@bentossell @earnestcapital A little bit hacky - but if you add an audio file to Dropbox and create the share link, you can replace the 'www.dropbox' with 'dl.dropboxusercontent' and then the audio file can be embedded and streamable. I use this for podcast hosting and it works g…↗

Been investing for 5.5 years. I have returned almost no capital, but have lead 1 round from seed investor->unicorn, 1 more coming shortly, and another hopefully a bit later in year. So I have at least learned some things. Here are my learnings for New GPs/Managers, fwiw:↗

Thread: “Fake it til you make it” is a key strategy for overcoming the chicken-and-egg problem of starting a new marketplace, popularized by companies like Uber and Yelp. The idea is to bootstrap one side of the marketplace inorganically in order to attract the other side.↗

Time for a story, since @gustaf is asking for some stories about talking to users for a YC presentation. This is how Lambda School was born, and it's way less sexy than everyone assumes.↗

The results to the following question isn't surprising: "Which 1-3 things do you want most help with right now?" VCs can help in many ways but very few (almost none) focus on the value-add startups want most: user acquisition↗

One of my lessons for 2018 is that slide decks are many times more engaging than long-form essays. On average people spend 200-300% more time on a deck than an essay. Funny. Y’all are just daring me to exclusive create and publish content in slide deck format?↗
