weird that there's a "make a lot of money" button and nobody's pressing it (take your SaaS, make it headless, let agents use it, charge per interaction esp for enterprises)↗

Automation is a lie. CLIs are over. The SaaSpocalypse is dumb. A year ago @danshipper came on the podcast to predict where AI was heading. He was remarkably right—including the call that everyone was sleeping on Claude Code. Dan has a unique lens into where things are going bec…↗

We've stopped buying SaaS and and are moving everything to agents, skills and just-in-time apps. In some cases, we've canceled subscriptions altogether and saved $10k+/year in the process. Here's our early success stories 🧵↗

If you're into collectables of any kind, you're probably familiar with the "Buy the seller" maxim. You usually have to trust who you're buying from before you can trust the item itself. The same thing is true when buying SaaS — especially if it's a service your business will be…↗

I'M FEELING SPICY TODAY I'll say the quiet parts out loud: 1. I wish I enjoyed opening Notion. Am I the only one who finds it slow and clunky? 2. AI is bleeding customers. The consumer experience needs to be as addictive as swiping on TikTok or IG. Until that’s fixed, you won'…↗

SaaSHub makes around $10k/m with premium listings. This means the directory is probably worth $350,000-$400,000, maybe more due to the industry. I love boring directories :)↗

Why is it that the companies with the highest gross margins and zero marginal costs are also, as a group, consistently unprofitable? It just seems odd to me. Over the past few years, one hypothesis I have can be summarized as follows: "Your marginal advantage is inversely corr…↗

This puts so well into words the conversation I’ve had dozens of times in the last year. (1) Incumbents are positioned to succeed in AI broadly much more than startups because brand, data, distribution offer advantage (2) The SaaS 1.0 playbook is uniquely bad for AI because A…↗

If we assume some basic productivity gains in a typical SaaS company from AI in the next 12-24 months, how much more profitable will the business be? Sales development, content marketing, & software engineering strike me as the workstreams that will benefit immediately.↗

Let's go back 5 years to May 2016 The markets are panicking. SaaS stocks are down 50%+. The mood is gloomy. Very gloomy. LinkedIn sells in a fire sale to Microsoft for 7x ARR a month later. And then they, & everyone else, go on to the most epic run in the history of software↗

My favourite criticism of @Superhuman. "Ah but high touch onboarding is not scalable". Really? Each rep can do 40 onboardings per week, dropping $14,400 in ARR. With 4 weeks holiday p.a that is $691,200. $691,200 x 150 reps = $103.6M ARR. I rest my case. Scalable.↗
